2018 Audi A1 First Drive

2018 Audi A1 Price and Release Date

If Audi chooses to offer the new three-door A1, it should cost about £ 15,000. The Sportback versions could earn you around £ 500 more in the range, while top-spec models could hit you with an invoice for over £ 23,000 when it goes on sale in 2018.

The new A1 should borrow elements of the angular and coarse style of larger Q2 – as stated in our rendering, above. A pair of sharper headlamps, contrast trim pieces and a larger grid flanked by two boxy air vents should help the next car look much more aggressive than the outgoing rather rounded model.

The new A1 should have a more square rear end and a flatter roofline than the old car, especially in the form of five-door Sportback, while the slotted crude doors of the Q2 could also make their appearance . The new LED headlamps and arm clamps should help her look more upscale, too.

The rumor calls it, the new A1 can only be proposed as a five-door Sportback model. If Audi decides to put in production a three-door version, it should still boast a more spacious cab and a more spacious startup than the three-door outbuilding.

The slightly old-fashioned interior of the current car should receive a full refresh. Its 6.5-inch infotainment screen could be abandoned in favor of a larger and more modern unit while a simpler central console could feature colored and colorful decorative pieces inspired by Q2.

The display of Audi’s virtual cabin – a high definition display that replaces conventional analogue instruments – should also be offered as an option on the new A1.

There was no official word on the engines that will power the new car, but we are planning for gasoline-powered three-cylinder petrol engines of 1.0 liter and 1.4 liters that will be offered alongside a diesel engine of 1 , 6 liter borrowed from the outgoing car. A new 1.5 liter fuel, which will first see the service in the updated VW Golf, could also be available when the new A1 will go on sale.

A six-speed manual transmission should be installed as standard, while a seven-speed DSG automatic should be offered as an option. A S1 equipped with high performance quattro, powered by a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline, should also be offered, but Audi has not confirmed if it will develop an RS1 version even faster.
