Toyota has introduced a new model joining the automaker’s popular compact crossover’s lineup for the new model year — the Toyota Rav4 2018 Adventure. Unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, the new variant is an ideal vehicle for families that have active lifestyles and love going on adventures in remote or out-of-the-way places. It is sporty and capable of handling even the roughest terrains.
The Toyota Rav4 2018 Adventure has the same powertrain that is used by the standard model: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 176 horsepower. It can be configured as a front-wheel drive with Automatic Limited-Slip Differential or with an all-wheel drive system with Dynamic Torque Control.
On the other hand, the Adventure grade comes with exclusive features that differentiate it from the other RAV4 models. The standard Tow Prep Package comes with an upgraded radiator and supplemental engine oil and transmission fluid coolers. The suspension has also been enhanced and this translates to a higher ride height.
Meanwhile, design-wise, the new Toyota Rav4 2018 Adventure is equipped with large overfender flares, lower body guards, 18-inch five-spoke black alloy wheels and Adventure badging. There are also black-colored headlight bezels, fog lamp surround and roof racks. Inside, the cabin features a unique trim for the interior panels alongside a leather-wrapped shift knob, Adventure door sill protections, all-weather floor and cargo mats with the Adventure logo and a 120-volt power outlet in the cargo area.
Toyota is also offering a Cold Weather Package that includes heated fabric power front row seats, a heated steering wheel and a wiper de-icer.
Prospective customers will be able to choose from five exterior colors: Black, Super White, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Silver Sky Metallic and Ruby Flare Pearl.
According to Car and Driver, the RAV4 Adventure LE will have a starting price of $25,850 while the RAV4 SE will cost about $30,925.
The Toyota Rav4 2018 Adventure be available to purchase beginning September.
